How does funding work on MY NDIS Plan?

Financial assistance for Exercise Physiology comes from these two categories in your NDIS plan:

  1. Capacity Building – Improved daily living
  2. Capacity building – Improved Health & Wellbeing

If your budget is currently allocated to other categories, speak to your plan manager to make changes.

Exercise Physiologists may also be able to offer service under Early Childhood Intervention if applicable through your NDIS plan.

 how will exercise physiology help me?

Research has shown that Exercise Physiology can increase independence and improve quality of life. This is achieved through varying types of exercise therapy that is shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve sleep quality, reduce stress and increase energy levels. Exercise is shown to improve self-confidence along with increasing overall concentration and working memory.

Exercise also aids in weight loss and management, increase in muscular strength and bone density, reduces risk of chronic disease and pain as well as increases cardiovascular fitness.

What does my first appointment look like?

During your initial consultation, your Exercise Physiologist will conduct a clinical assessment and get an understanding of your unique needs. From this information they will create an individualised program that will help you achieve your specific health and lifestyle goals.
